VACAY!

This weekend was a weekend of many firsts for our Mollie Cakes. We took our first family vacation. Mollie had her first visit to the Arlington Resort and Spa in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which my family visits every 2 years for a rather large family reunion. And Mollie survived her first extended road trip! It took us almost 7.5 hours from Nashville to Hot Springs on Friday, then we drove back from Hot Springs to Memphis on Sunday (4 hours), had an overnight stay and visited w/ friends, which lead us to finally drive Memphis to Nashville on Monday (4.5 hours). Phew! We are all glad to be out of the car.

We've been visiting this place every 2 years since before I was born!
I love it here. I have so many childhood memories running around those halls.

On to Memphis!

Ready to go home....

Muffin Tin Mondays

We're joining in on a fun little activity called Muffin Tin Monday! It basically consists of serving one meal for your child each Monday in a muffin tin. It is all run on another blog and sometimes follows themes for the meals.

For more information check out this blog:

Here's to Mollie and mine's 1st MTM!

7-13-09

Our 1st MT meal consisted of: milk, mango, carrots, broccoli/chicken casserole (in two tins) and sweet potatoes!

Double-fisted eating (notice she's at a little table now- she loves when I let her eat here).

Ooooooohhhhh! It's gooood!

Sad that it's almost all gone... :(

We can't wait for next week!

7-20-09
This MTM was thrown together very quickly, as we had just returned from a long weekend vacation. Mollie didn't eat as much as last time, which I blame on her having snacked throughout the day in our long 4.5 hour car ride home. Oh well, maybe next week.

It consisted of: grapes, chicken, milk, rice, green bean/peas, pumpkin
She ate all of the pumpkin and grapes, a third of the chicken, and picked at the rest, which she normally loves all of these foods.

So sleepy! She had only napped 30 minutes today. :(

**Sorry for the low quality photos. They were taken w/ my point-and-shoot b/c Josh had my camera. You can really tell a difference between the cameras.

7-27-09
Today's MTM was our first thematic MTM!
It was inspired by Mollie's favorite book: Mother Goose Baby Nursery Rhymes.

Milk and a "dog bone" biscuit- "Hey, Diddle, Diddle"
Pumpkin- "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater"
Eggs- "Humpty Dumpty"
"Clock face" toast and applesauce - "Hickory, Dickory, Dock"
Blueberries- "Rain, Rain, Go Away"

The "dog bone" biscuit didn't turn out the way I'd imagined it, but overall I was pleased. Of course, Mollie loved it all.......well, all but the eggs. She's very concerned w/ her food's textures. Eggs were a no-go. :)

8-3-09
Today's theme was "Party/Celebrate". Since I was at school all day, we did our MTM for dinner and made it more of a "Fiesta". ;)

Milk, black beans, taco meat, cheese, tortilla, mango

She loves her "new" sippy cup (actually we've had it since one of my baby showers, but she just figured out the straw)

Sweetness

Josh is off work tonight, so he did Mollie's bedtime routine with us. She's sitting in his lap while he reads to her about baby animals and helps her feel the "soft fur" of one animal or the "rough ear" of another. As they turn to another animal that is described as fluffy he says, "See, it feels a lot like the bunny b/c they both have fur". Cue my melting heart here...

I am one lucky lady. Thank you, God.

**This picture is from a few weeks ago, but I love it b/c you can see how much they adore one another.
